Business Simulations
The Wine Bar Game
Developed by Northgate and used by top organisations, this great business simulation finds out which team can run the best wine bar. Every team has the same information and the same opportunities - but how will they each react? Great fun and gets across key lessons about management teams and business principles. Requires only ONE pc (or laptop) and printer.

How it works
Teams start a wine bar from scratch - agreeing a loan and then making decisions on refurbishment, pricing, marketing budget, advertising copy, staffing, pay - and how many bottles of wine to stock. After plenty of discussion, team decisions are computer analysed and reported - in the form of a weekly P&L, bank statement and sales breakdown. The computer also prints help and advice as required. Teams face further challenges of quality, expansion and diversification so they need to analyse the “weekly” results carefully in order to make good decisions - and maximise profit. Run for as many “weekly rounds” as you choose. Presentations optional.
What it does
This very popular business simulation illustrates all the main decisions facing any business. It highlights the importance of making decisions based on the analysis of reliable data, rather than acting on whims and assumptions. Flagging up teams’ profit each week encourages great competition! Ideal for courses and conferences.
