Teamwork

The Cards Series: Teamwork

Unlike most of our activities (where team skills are put to the test), this teamwork pack encourages groups to REFLECT ON THEIR EXPERIENCES of teams at work. Which teams work well? Which don't? What in the organisation are the main problems to overcome in order for teams to reach maximum potential?

How it works

It's very easy. Simply divide participants into teams and issue each with a set of cards. There are 30 different cards in each set (though the sets are identical). Teams study the cards, discuss them and reach various conclusions that are aired in full at the Debrief by posing a series of questions the cards allow participants to question, analyse and improve their own individual performance as a team player..

There are three types of card:

True/False Cards challenge some prejudices and ideas about teamwork.

Round Robin Cards over issues such as coaching, leadership, gender differences, newly-formed teams, conflict etc.

Real Situations Cards give examples from real life and ask the group to decide how the situations might have been resolved. Action Plans are completed at the end to ensure that the key lessons for each individual and the group as a whole are implemented back at the workplace.

Customer feedback

  • We used the Teamwork CARDS with a newly formed team of senior managers. They stimulated fantastic discussion about real situations they are facing at present. The debrief was able to consolidate these ideas and provided solutions to take back to the workplace.
